Our renewables business provides the opportunity to invest in the high quality infrastructure that is part of Australia’s long term transition to a clean energy system.
The management team and Solar Income Fund’s board of directors comprise some of Australia’s most experienced leaders in the renewable industry.
The funds’ investments have been in Australian utility-grade solar farms, with peak capacities between one and thirty-five megawatts.
We are also exploring renewable energy investment in the Pacific, where many populations use electricity generated by imported diesel. Some of these countries are also dangerously exposed to sea-level rises caused by climate change.
We have successfully raised capital, via our IIG Solar Development Trust, to fund solar farms through construction. Our IIG Solar Income Fund has acquired solar assets once complete, with the intent of managing them to deliver stable returns over a longer term.
We have opened IIG Solar Asset Fund which launched in mid-2018, successfully raising the necessary capital to fund the two seed assets. As of October 2018, we are still taking expressions of interest to invest, and are expecting to open the fund in November 2018 raising more capital to fund a prospective third seed asset.
Our co-investors include ultra and high net worth individuals, family offices, self-managed superannuation funds, and the carbon-free retail superannuation fund, Future Super. The Clean Energy Finance Corporation (CEFC) committed $50m in senior debt finance to the IIG Solar Income Fund.
