Ben is a senior legal professional and negotiator, having completed a Bachelor of Laws and Economics at Monash University in 1997. Ben joined IIG in 2016, with over 15 years of experience across corporate advisory, advocacy, commercial strategy, commercial transactions, business development, leadership, and dispute resolution.
In his role as General Counsel, he is responsible for all in-house legal matters, leading the property and renewables transactional deal teams and high level commercial strategy and decision making. This has included leading large property acquisition projects and renewable infrastructure development projects, as well as the establishment and structuring of IIG’s venture capital fund.
He has honed and developed his business acumen over many years in private practice and via his dealings with a wide range of commercial clients and his own impact investment portfolio. He has led a number of successful transactions at IIG, including in the Real Estate and Renewables business units. He is a member of the Board of Directors of Environment Victoria and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
